So I know not everyone is super crafty, but trust me, you can handle this one. If I can do it, you can. I wanted a floral napkin ring for an event we were planning but there wasn’t enough left in the budget to spend $3.60 per napkin ring to rent…. so we decided to get a little crafty and make ’em ourselves. Here is the step-by-step tutorial so you can make your own]
Supplies needed:
{step one} Measure out 5″ sections of ribbon. This will serve as the “ring.”
{step two} Grab your hook & loop (velcro). I used the adhesive squares. Which fit perfectly on our 7/8″ ribbon. Alternatively you can cut squares from strips if that’s what you find.
{step three} Attach fuzzy soft side to one end of ribbon
{step four} Flip ribbon over and attached the stiff end to the other opposite end.
{step five} fold the ends around and stick the hook & loop sides together. *note if you are going to reuse often, you may want to reinforce the sticky side of the velcro with either a small dab of hot glue or a quick stitch or two.
{step six} Pull the head of the flowers from the bunch. When removing be sure you get the full bottom of the stem or your flowers will fall apart. You should have a green stem about a 1/2″ long or so on the end.
{step seven} Trim the green end so the flower will lay a little flatter on the ribbon. Again, don’t cut too close or your flowers will come apart.
{step eight} Apply an ample amount of hot glue to the top/hard side of your ribbon ring.
{step nine} Firmly press the back of the flower on the ribbon ring. I pushed in the middle of the flower as well as from the back. You always add a bit more glue if you need it.
{step ten} fold a napkin in thirds lengthwise and affix loop the napkin ring around the middle. Tuck the sides under the plate for an adorable bow look.
